Service Description

This unique tour will take you to the South of Israel, to magnificent sites World Heritage Sites of the early Biblical Period – Tel Arad, Tel Sheva and Abraham Well. We shall pick you up at your Tel Aviv Hotel at 9:00 AM and shall take a Toll Way to the South, to Negev. Our first stop is at Tel Arad National Park. Tel Arad dates back to the Canaanite Period of the Bronze Age. Its 'Cyclopean' walls built of huge, unworked limestone boulders which are roughly fitted together, still stand, reminding us the Biblical stories of Giants. Arad is described in the Bible as a Canaanite stronghold (Judges 1:16). The fortresses at the top of the hill includes the remains of a unique Judean temple, powerful and well preserved fortifications and an extraordinary water facility from the time of the Kings. From Tel Arad we shall continue to Tel Sheba. The site is mentioned several times in Bible which emphasizes its importance at the Biblical times ((Judges 20:1; 1 Sam. 3:20). In the mid-10th century BCE, ascribed to King Salomon times, the first large fortified city was established at Beersheba, to serve as the administrative center of the southern region of the kingdom. The best preserved at Tel Sheva are the city walls, huge water supply system and also the Altar of the ancient Jewish Temple, surprisingly well preserved. From Tel Sheba we shall continue to visit the famous Abraham Well at Beersheba. Abraham Well is first mentioned in the biblical account of God's revelation to the patriarchs (Gen. 26:23-25; 46:1). The well is located in the center of a courtyard, in the middle of the innovative heritage site featuring the story of the Patriarch Abraham, the Country of Canaan and the famous well of water, described in the Bible. From Beer Sheba we shall take a return drive to the North, to your Tel Aviv Hotel. Prices do not include entrance fees.
