Service Description

We shall pick you up at your Tel Aviv hotel and will drive you up the Judean Mountains to Jerusalem. This Catholic tour of Jerusalem starts with a breathtaking view from the Mount of Olives. We shall continue with the visit to Dominus Plevit church, 'the Lord's Cry' - where Jesus is believed to weep over the destruction of Jerusalem forty years later. Here we shall see the oldest Judeo-Christian tombs dating II Century AD. Driving across the Resurrection Valley, we'll descend to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed by Judas and arrested. This garden's ancient olive trees might have been saplings when Jesus was here. Next stop is the Church of All Nations or the Basilica of the Agony, where Jesus prayed on the night of his arrest. We'll enter the Old City through the Lion Gate. It is generally believed that Jesus crossed this Gate on his way to the City on Palm Sunday. We shall first stop at St. Anne Church and Bethesda Pool. It marks the traditional site of the home of Jesus’ maternal grandparents, Anne and Joachim, and the birthplace of the Virgin Mary. Bethesda is identified as the scene of one of Jesus’ miracles. This was the healing of the paralyzed man who had waited for 38 years for someone to help him into the pool “when the water is stirred. From here you will walk along the 14 Stations of the Cross of the Via Dolorosa, the Way of Grief, and the path where Jesus was led in agony until the crucifixion on Golgotha. The first eight stations are in the streets of the Old City, while the last five stations are located in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. At the Holy Sepulcher we shall ascend the Golgotha will see the Aedicule – Jesus Tomb and will descend the Church of the St. Helen, where the True Cross was found. After praying and exploring the church, you will further visit the Last Supper room on Mount Zion where Jesus had his Last Supper with his disciples. You will visit the beautiful Dormition Church and descend into the crypt where Mary fell into 'eternal sleep'. From here we shall take a short walk along Jerusalem Walls back to the car. Finally, we shall drive you back to your hotel.
