# Hidden Paradise Between Two Metropolitan Cities

Park Ramat Gan is built along the southern shore of the Yarkon River, separating between two cities - Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan. Back in 1917 this place evidenced heavy fighting between the British and the Turkish Armies, during the WWI. When finally the Brits managed to cross the river, under heavy German and Turkish fire, that symbolized the beginning of the end of the WWI in the Middle East.

Today this huge park is a real paradise for the hikers, bikers and wild animals - mostly jackals, turtles and different water birds. Yarkon River here serves as a border between ever competing Ramat Gan and Tel Aviv, and its northern shore belongs to even bigger Tel Aviv Ha Yarkon Park.
